Special Project: Art Legacy

Description

This is it.

This was what my entire Drawing Class Semester has led to.

The assignment was to select only a few of your friends and arrange them in a picture in whatever way you wished.

I, of course, decided to put them all in a giant comic-book panel.

-He may say that I helped inspire him, but I've always felt it was the other way around. I knew him since 4th Grade, and even then I felt his work already had its own power and essence to it. His anatomy skills are outstanding, and his faces are always expressive and well detailed, far beyond what I can do. I tried to give him a powerful pose, and added extra darkness in order to make him stand out more.

-I feel he's an artist in his own right, especially seeing the lengthy articles and papers he's written. I can honestly say I wouldn't have survived High School without him, and it was always fun comparing notes and art with him. I drew wearing a Deadpool T-Shirt (Marvel Comics) him hold the Necromonicon (Sp?) with Swamp Thing (DC Comics) standing next to Man Thing (Marvel Comics) with Ghost Rider to the opposite side of him.

-I'm not sure what else is left to say about her. I've known her since 7th Grade and her art pretty much speaks for itself. Its always done with plenty of heart and soul and it probably some of the cleanest and well colored work you'll find on this website. I owe her quite a lot in both general Art and in Real Life. I drew her with many 'Chibi'-like versions of herself all around her. I don't speak Japanese, but I'm positive the characters in the speech bubble translate to 'Dream', which is what her artwork always looked like to me.

-Finally, I owe a lot to him as well. We actually go back so far that I believe we were friends when we were fairly young. His style always looks theatrical and reminds me a lot of paintings and pastel works. I've shared a lot of artistic works and such with him, and he's an all around good person. He's a black belt in Martial Arts, so I decided to get creative and sport him kicking high with him shouting Bruce Lee-like while poking a bit outside of the panel.

Otherwise, I used various pencil/pastel/chalk/ and tech pen techniques to properly render this comic page. What frustrates me though, is that the page is so big that there was literally no way to properly scan this page in. I had no choice but to take a picture of it on my phone. I don't think it does this work justice, as I worked extremely hard on it for a number of long weeks...but it is what it is.

Now, if you'll excuse me, I need to fall into a deep coma. I'm exhausted.
